Book Awards

Try reading some of this year's award nominees! All of these books can be found in our library. Many of them can also be found as an ebook or audiobook using the Sora app.
Washington Children's Choice Picture Book Award
The WCCPBA is a Washington Library Association award. There are 20 fantastic nominees each year. The winner is chosen by kindergarten - 3rd grade students.
OTTER Award
The Our Time to Enjoy Reading Award is a Washington Library Association award for kindergarten through 5th graders. The nominees are both highly engaging and developmentally appropriate for students that are transitioning to chapter books. Students can vote for the winner in May.
Towner Award
This is a Washington Library Association award. The Towner Award is for nonfiction picture books written for 2nd - 6th graders. Students in these grades can read at least two of the titles and vote in the spring.
Windows and Mirrors Award
This is an Edmonds School District award for 4th - 6th graders. The books reflect diverse characters, families, and experiences. Students can read at least one of the books and then vote for the winner in the spring.
Sasquatch Award
This is a Washington Library Association award for 4th - 6th graders. Students can read at least two of the books and then vote for the winner in the spring.
